Art Confidence Boosters
This project showcases five custom illustrations inspired by key sections of my blog post on boosting art confidence as a surface pattern designer. Each illustration conveys a distinct message, with some incorporating elements from my Community pattern collection to emphasize themes of connection and growth.
Embrace Imperfection
This illustration features hands drawing a floral design, with ink flowing freely from the pen. It symbolizes the idea of letting go of perfectionism and embracing unexpected, beautiful outcomes from "happy accidents."
Build a Supportive Community
In this illustration, a diverse group of people is painting a circular mural on the floor, highlighting the Community pattern. The scene represents the importance of collaboration and support from fellow artists.
Keep a Success Journal
An open journal filled with symbols of achievement—awards, a mountain peak, and a crown—reminds us to document our wins. The "keep going" text encourages reflection on progress and small victories over time.
Practice Regularly
A man sits in front of a whiteboard, surrounded by a clock and a detailed plan outlining his practice routine. This visual emphasizes the importance of consistency and setting aside time to practice daily in order to build confidence.
Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
In this final illustration, a woman steps out of a familiar, plain space into a world bursting with a vibrant, floral pattern. The scene illustrates the idea of pushing boundaries and exploring new creative possibilities to grow as an artist.
